This is a list of the events that the Municipal Liaisons of the Gainesville, FL region are organizing. Here you will find dates, times, directions and more.
We may have “on the fly” meet-ups, so be sure to check the blog on the front page for updates, or, as always, the Gainesville, Fl regional lounge in the forums on the NaNo WriMo website.

Meet & Greet (our Kick-off event)
WHEN: Saturday, October 29; 10:00am – 12:00noon
WHERE: Meeting Room A – Alachua County Library Headquarters
WHY: Come meet others local Wrimos, participate in writing exercises, get goodie bags, eat treats, and generally have a good time before the writing starts

Kick-off Write-in
WHEN: Tuesday Nov. 1, ~6:30 pm -8:00 pm
WHERE: Millhopper branch of ACLD
WHY: Informal write-in – both Amanda and Christy should be there, but without all the trappings -no scheduled room, for instance. But if you want to start November off with company, come find a place to sit at the Millhopper library and let the word flow!

Write-In
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 5; 10:00am – 12:00noon
WHERE: Millhopper Branch of ACLD, meeting room B
WHY: Finish strong on the first week – a chance to meet up with other writers, and increase that word count

Ice Cream Social and Fundraiser
WHEN: Mon. Nov 7; 7:00-8:00 pm
WHERE: Sweet Dreams Ice Cream
WHY: A chance to take a break, chat with other writers, eat ice cream, and raise money for NaNo WriMo.

Behind Grandy’s – Plaza on corner of University Ave. and SW 34th street.
The NaNo WriMo Ice cream cup will be on sale from 5 – 9 pm, so invite your family and friends, help raise money for the Office of Letter and Light.
Veteran’s Day Write-In- Unplugged
WHEN: Friday Nov. 11; 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
WHERE: Westside Park, Pavilions near playground
WHY: Day off work? No classes? Come increase your word count instead – drop by and join us on this holiday and take advantage of the outdoors to get away from those pesky distractions like the Internet – come and write with us

Write In – the Big Event
WHEN: Tuesday Nov. 15; 5:00 pm – 10 pm
WHERE: Info Commons – Library West
WHY:Hit the middle-of-the month slump? Come to the middle-of-the-month Write in. Commiserate with others, get your write on, listen to local author Lee Roland give inspiration, and chat with our guest authors, Eleanor Brown and Gail Carriger, via online chatroom.

“Ten Days to Go” Write-in
WHEN: Sunday Nov. 20; 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
WHERE: Meeting Room B – Millhopper Branch – Alachua County Library
WHY: Less than a third of the month left – Join us for a write-in to work on your word count!

Black Friday – Write In
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 25th; 2:00pm – 4:00pm
WHERE: Wild Iris Books / Cafe Colette
WHY: To sneak in extra words while others are in a post-Thanksgiving stupor or out shopping.

Write In – the Final Push
WHEN: Wednesday Nov. 30; 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
WHERE: Info Commons – Library West
WHY: We return to the Info Commons to get our write on. Last day to crank out words towards our goal, this will be a day concentrated on writing. Let’s cross that finish line!
